Activities (as of January 23, 2008 )
Winter has officially arrived with December bringing RECORD snowfalls! Fall bowling was a great success this year with over 80 participants.
Winter/Spring bowling started just last night. As Al Cenerazzo said, this is a great way to avoid "cabin fever" this winter. So hike up those snowbooties and get your butt down to the bowling alley. You can substitute bowl or cheer your favorite team to victory. Then join the guys at the Brewery in Downtown Northampton for a drink or snack afterwards (usually starts around 9:15 pm).
The beauty of MONOHO is that we can all try to offer activities and events. Some work and some don't, but unless we KEEP TRYING we'll never know. So, if you want to start or host an event, let me know. You can always set up a Poll to see if there's interest and to gather potential participants. The Yahoo Group is GREAT for doing stuff like this.
Here's to a great winter ahead. Skiing at Berkshire East, anyone?
Here's to Winter,
Michael, The MONOHO Moderator.

Gutterboys Gay Bowling League
6:30PM - 8:30PM
Family Bowling Center, Northampton, MA
Gutterboys bowling began just three years ago at the Northampton Bowl. A few of us decided to pass the winter blues by forming a sort of ad hoc league and showing up every Tuesday night. What started with a few guys soon grew into 64+ every Tuesday night on 14 permanent teams of 4. We collect money (now $13 per night of bowling + $2 shoe rental) at the bowling alley to pay for the lane rental and to put into a general pot for a big end-of-season party held in May or June. We bowl over 2 seasons: Fall and Winter.
The Spring Season has begun! However, you can still sign up to be a "sub" (that's "sub-stitute!) bowler or just come to the bowling alley and "cheer" on your favorite team! You can find out more info on our Yahoo bowling group site, Gutterboys-Noho.

If you can't make it to the Northampton Bowl for bowling, why not come out for a drink afterwards? We usually meet at The Brewery in Northampton right afte bowling from about 9:15pm for a couple of hours. Basically, it turns into the largest gay bar in Northampton every Tuesday night! Stop by and say hello.

Wintertime "kicks" with skiing, skating, snow shoeing. In the winter, the big ski mountains of Vermont are an easy day trip, and a very fun and do-able weekend get-away with a bunch of friends. Closer to home, there are several cross country ski areas within an hour drive of Northampton, and plenty of trails to enjoy within the city as well. There are over 1,000 acres of conservation land in Northampton, with a fantastic network of ski and snow shoeing trails to explore.
(We hope to post more WINTERTIME info here just after the Holidays.)
