Noho Men's Social
meet other men at the Hotel Northampton.

A monthly gathering, usually around the 3rd Friday of the month. Come on out and meet other gay men from the area. Over a hundred guys each time. Free hors d'oeuvres, cash bar. Great guys, friendly faces.

Hartford H4 Socials
head south & meet lots of men in Hartford, too.

Another monthly gathering that also occurs (usually) on the 3rd Friday of the month, but this one is down in Hartford, CT. Reason to drive there? They get 300 guys on a good night. Same deal: free hors d'oeuvres, cash bar. Location changes month to month.

Springfield Martini Nights
2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.

A queer social event held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The location changes each time, mostly in down-town Springfield. Events average 40-50 people each time. Most people head out for dinner after, either at the meeting location or somewhere else. Ask Robert to add you to their mailing list.

Rockit Queer
usually on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Started by a local monoho member, these dances up in Turner's Falls attract all types: from gay to straight, hip to hippie. Hang with cool locals all night long while the DJ spins out the tunes. Held at the Rendezvous pub in Turner's Falls, so food can also be ordered if you arrive early enough.

Gender-Free Contra Dancing
held monthly on Saturdays.

Contra is New England-style barn dance done in two long lines to live Celtic-infused music. It's lots of fun, easy-to-learn and there's no fancy footwork. Every dance is taught from scratch and a caller prompts you throughout. No partner needed. Queer Contra is gender-role-free, so dance with whomever you want.

Men's Bowling
Tuesdays nights, Sept-Dec and Jan-March seasons.

This is a great group of guys and great way to meet many guys in the area quickly. From the fall into the spring, the guys gather on Tuesday nights at Spare Time Bowl in Northampton. You can join a team or simply register as a "sub." And the guys hang out for a beer afterward! ( more info )

Men's Dodgeball
Monday nights, on & off during year. Coming back for more in Jan 2010.

Join the guys as they duck it and dodge it at the Allsport Arena in Northampton (map). Usually played in 4-week "spurts" on Monday nights. Check listings on our Yahoo group to see when the next 4 weeks begins. The guys also go out for beers andgood lordkaraoke after the game.

Men's Volleyball
you know it's summer when volleyball begins!

Tuesdays in summer are the best. All the guys gather around 6:15 PM at Maines Field in Northampton (map). All levels of player welcome. After lots of sweaty fun, it's off to the Northampton Brewery for food, brews, and dudes up in the roof-deck the warm summer night air.

GLBT Basketball
weekly, picking up again in January 2010!

Jan 2010 brings the latest season of basketball. Open to all skill levels, we encourage those who have always wanted to play to stop by and give it a try. 6-9 PM Thursday nights in Springfield, MA. If interested in playing, click link below to contact Michael.

GLBT Softball
weekends in summer.

The Southern New England Friendship League is based in the Springfield, MA area and is a member of the NAGAAA (North American Gay Amateur Athletic Association). They provide a great atmosphere for anyone to learn and play softball. Check their website below for more info.

Sundays in spring, summer, maybe fall.

This is a friendly pickup game of soccer with some local guys. Not a formal league. Played Sunday afternoons in the warmer weather, spring, summer or early fall. New guys welcome. Check the Yahoo listings for any notices once it finally gets warm out again!

Men's Meditation
Thursday nights, resuming February 2010.

Join us for a weekly queer men's mindfulness meditation group. No meditation experience needed; people of all faiths and traditions welcome. Guys arrive early for tea/chit-chat, then meditation begins. Be sure to bring your own mat! Email Brandon to be added to his email list, or for any questions.

Out! for Reel Film Series
a "film fest" that showcases one gay film a month.

This was started by a local person whose idea it was to show one gay film per month, rather than wait all year for a one-time gay film festival. These events have been highly successful, with sell-out crowds. Films alternate between those of interest to men or to women. Check the schedule on their website to see what's next.

Gay Men's Chorus
Monday nights, on & off throughout the year.

PVGMC contains a core group of guys who enjoy one another's company as much as we enjoy singing. We hope new peopleas well as previous memberswill come join our chorus. Don't be shy! We have fun, along with the enjoyment of embracing each other in song and friendship.

The NEO Book Club, or the Not Exactly the Oprah Book Club, meets once a month from September through June to discuss a different book each month. They meet on the 3rd Sunday of the month, usually at 5PM for 90 minutes or so.
