Yahoo Notices — read the latest, see what's going on. Read our online
Yahoo group
where everyone posts. Once you create
a Yahoo account, you can post too: events,

"Calendar" — see regular events listed by month. OK,
it's not a day-to-day calendar, but it is a listing
of both monthly and annual events of interest to the gays in
western mass.

month. Come on out and meet other gay men from the area.

Another monthly gathering that also occurs (usually) on the
3rd Friday of the month, but this one is down in Hartford,
CT. Reason to drive there? They get 300 guys on a good
night. Same deal: free hors d'oeuvres, cash bar.
Location changes month to month.

A queer social event held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each
month from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The location changes each time,
mostly in down-town Springfield. Events average 40-50 people
each time. Most people head out for dinner after, either at
the meeting location or somewhere else. Ask Robert to add
you to their mailing list.

Started by a local monoho member, these dances up in
Turner's Falls attract all types: from gay to straight, hip
to hippie. Hang with cool locals all night long while the DJ
spins out the tunes. Held at the Rendezvous pub in Turner's
Falls, so food can also be ordered if you arrive early
enough.

Contra is New England-style barn dance done in two long
lines to live Celtic-infused music. It's lots of fun,
easy-to-learn and there's no fancy footwork. Every dance is
taught from scratch and a caller prompts you throughout. No
partner needed. Queer Contra is gender-role-free, so dance
with whomever you want.

This is a great group of guys and great way to meet many
guys in the area quickly. From the fall into the spring, the
guys gather on Tuesday nights at Spare Time Bowl in
Northampton. You can join a team or simply register as a
"sub." And the guys hang out for a beer afterward!

Join the guys as they duck it and dodge it at the Allsport Arena in Northampton (map). Usually
played in 4-week
"spurts" on Monday nights. Check listings on our Yahoo group
to see when the next 4 weeks begins. The guys also go out for beers and—good lord—karaoke after the game. |

Tuesdays in summer are the best. All the guys gather around
6:15 PM at Maines Field in Northampton (map).
All levels of player welcome. After lots of sweaty
fun, it's off to the Northampton Brewery for food, brews,
and dudes up in the roof-deck the warm summer night air. |

Jan 2010 brings the latest season of basketball. Open to all

This is a friendly pickup game of soccer with some local
guys. Not a formal league. Played Sunday afternoons in the
warmer weather, spring, summer or early fall. New guys
welcome. Check the Yahoo listings for any notices once it
finally gets warm out again! |

Join us for a weekly queer men's mindfulness meditation
group. No meditation experience needed; people of all faiths
and traditions welcome. Guys arrive early for tea/chit-chat,
then meditation begins. Be sure to bring your own mat!
Email Brandon to be added to his email list, or for any
questions. |

This was started by a local person whose idea it was to show
one gay film per month, rather than wait all year for a
one-time gay film festival. These events have been highly
successful, with sell-out crowds. Films alternate between
those of interest to men or to women. Check the schedule on
their website to see what's next. |

PVGMC contains a core group of guys who enjoy one another's
company as much as we enjoy singing. We hope new people—as
well as previous members—will
come join our chorus. Don't be shy! We have fun, along with
the enjoyment of embracing each other in song and
friendship. |

The NEO Book Club, or the Not Exactly the Oprah Book Club,
meets once a month from September through June to discuss a
different book each month. They meet on the 3rd Sunday of
the month, usually at 5PM for 90 minutes or so. |
