Let's get ready to t u m b l e ! !
The
following is a message from Organizer Al:
"I hope everyone enjoyed
their holidays and now it's time to get into shape. Mark your
calendars for the 12th of January so you can run off some of that
excess weight. The games will start at 7pm so it would help to get
there a little early so we can set up teams. We should have 3 and
possibly 4 teams. Only 2 teams play at a time so there'll be time to
socialize and rest between matches. Wear comfortable
clothes---usually shorts and a tee-shirt are enough but sweatpants
and a sweatshirt work if you get cold easily. The cost is $10 and
the games will be at Allsports which is the big building at the
Northampton Fairgrounds. Please let me know by the middle of next
week if you will be coming or not so that I can get back to the
Allsports staff. I'm looking forward to it."

Give a little bit.
AIDS CARE / Hampshire County
One
of our fellow monoho-ers tipped me off about AIDS Care. Listings
show an office at 10 Main Street in Florence, but I am also showing
information about the organization through the Cooley-Dickinson
website, which has a brief listing with contact information.
If anyone has any more information about this organization, or can report any positive experiences with them, please contact me here.
Details I was able to find:

Academy of Music Seeking a Few Good Men
Our very own Matt Meers now works his magic at the Academy. Many members have already done guest gigs—volunteering at the candy counter,
burning the popcorn, or just being ushers. If you're interested in helping out at any of their events, just send an email to
the "Volunteer Coordinator" by
clicking
here.
We're sure they can find a spot for you at some upcoming events!

Big Brothers Needed
Big Brothers of Hampshire County
has asked us to post this request:
"I wanted to let you know about our need for male mentors in Hampshire county. 80% of our waiting list are boys waiting for a Big Brother. The 'Littles' as we call them, are ages 6-16 and Big Brothers spend 3-5 hours a week doing fun activities together, such as cooking, taking a walk (Littles love to walk your dog with you), sports, art, boardgames, movies, events, even just sitting and chatting. It doesn't matter what you do as long as you are consistent."
"Most of our Littles come from low income single parent families. Any help would be appreciated. Please see our website and/or call me for more information."
